I came across this interesting solution for small Group
Collaboration called Mindquarry (http://www.mindquarry.com).
It’s developed in Java and so runs on any platform (Windows, Linux and Mac),
the machine acting as the server will need to have the Java runtime environment
installed on it.  It offers 3 modules for
effective group collaboration – Files, Wiki and tasks.

It has an easy to use
interface and easy file syncronation utility, which can be enhanced by the
Mindquarry client providing easy remote file and tasks management. Mindquarry
uses a WYSIWYG editor for it’s Wiki, eliminating the need for special markup
tags and the tasks module is heavily based on Ajax which gives it a desktop
application look. Also the task module provides a RSS feed, which you can track
with any RSS reader and if you prefer you can export your tasks as a .ical to
use in your calendar application (must support .ical) or you can just export it to a PDF file, ready for
taking away or printing.

Mindquarry is free under an Open Source License. Why not
try their online demo – http://www.mindquarry.com/products/demo.
