Efficient Browsing

July 23rd, 2007 by dcouper · No Comments

Google has this online tool http://google.com/gwt/n that
automatically strips any given website down to a minimum (text and a few images- if you want them). So if you are browsing from a mobile phone or a connection where you pay per megabyte – it is much cheaper. Also if you are someone who goes to internet cafes when travelling and find the connection slow – this would definitely speed up the page load times.

I use this for checking out www.nrl.com because that site normally takes about 30-45 seconds to load (and I have 6mb broadband) but with this tool from Google it only takes about 4 seconds!

It seems that Google really is trying to make the web more accessible from mobile devices - which they will find useful if their bid to join the mobile industry is successful
