Sony confirms USB stick security problem

Electronics giant Sony has confirmed a recently discovered security flaw in some of its products that could leave PCs vulnerable to attack by hackers.
The firm said that the fault, which affected software packaged with memory sticks, was developed by a third-party.

Legal threats halt iPhone crack

A British firm’s plan to sell software that could open the iPhone to non-US networks has been put on hold following legal threats.

UWB Approved in the UK

Ofcom (the telecoms regulator in the UK) has just approved the use of Ultrawideband (UWB). This technology connects devices within a radius of about 30 metres at 2 gigabits per second. This means that devices such as TVs and DVD players would not need interconnecting cables but could be in different rooms and still work.
