1 – Go to START>ControlPanel>System
2 – Click on the “Hardware” tab then “Device Manager”
3 – Click on “Network Adapters” (to expand it) and then select the Wireless card (in my case the Intel Pro 3945ABG)
4 – Right Click on the wireless card and select uninstall from the pop-up menu.
5 – After uninstalling click on Action>Scan for Harware Changes and your device will be found and reinstalled
6 – Restart your computer and it should all work.

First: Stop the “Reboot on system failure”
– Start the computer and press F8 just before the windows screen appears (just after POST)
– Press F8 again to get more startup options (if only one option is shown – read screen for instructions)
– Select the option “Disable Reboot on System Failure”
– System will then try to boot and halt on the blue screen of death, which contains your error message

So how do I install OS X when the dvd drive is broken?

1. Connect the two Macs by firewire cable. One will be the host for the DVD drive and one will be the target which you will install OS X onto.

2. Start up the target computer you plan to install OS X on in target mode by holding down T when you restart the computer. This will mount the target computer as a hard drive on the host computer.

3. Put the OS X installation disk into the Mac that is your host computer.

4. You can now either open the installer on the DVD which will prompt you to restart the host computer. Or you can simply restart and hold down C which will force the Mac to startup from the DVD.

5. Once you have started up from the installer DVD follow through the normal steps. You will then arrive at the option to choose the destination. Select the hard drive of the target computer. You will probably have to change the options if you are not doing an upgrade.

6. Once you have finished the installation shut down the host computer and disconnect the firewire cable. You can now restart the target computer which will startup with a newly installed OS X.

*Note: If you are installing OS X 10.3 (panther) or earlier you can not use an intel based mac to use as the host computer. Both the target and host computers will need to be powerpc based and vice versa if you are installing on an intel based mac.

In a nutshell here is how you do it.

1. Setup a backup cronjob on your CPanel - send backup to you Gmail account
2. on Gmail, go to Settings > Filters
3. create a new filter From: <your server’s email address>  – to know it you need to check the backup email you’ve just received from the cronjob.
4. on the next step select the options “Skip the Inbox” and “Delete it”
5. select also “apply to # conversations below” – it will apply the filter (rule) to any existing backup you already have in your inbox

1. Log on to your ning site and click on “My Page”
2. click on “Customize appearance”
3. Scroll down and click on the Advanced tab
4. add the following text to the textarea available

Now you do this based on your own conscience, I’m just sharing my tips, Im’ not talking you into doing this .

1- as root #apt-get install php5-imap (a blue screen will ask if you want to install it without maildir support – if all you need it for is SugarCRM click yes)

2 – restart Apache – #/etc/init.d/apache2 restart

See painless! For other distributions, just search for php imap on your Package Manager like Yast or Synaptic.

While upgrading from version 4.5 to 5.o, using the option to upload from local file,after clicking the upload upgrade button the page would hang for a while and then take me back to the home page without any error message. I checked the installation, checked my PHP.ini and the upload size limit was set to 40M as instructed during the installation. Then I look in more detail at my PHP.ini and noticed that post_limit = 8M… mmm …. stupid detail overlooked and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I increased it to 40M and the upgrade moved very smoothly.

Here is how you do it:

Under Linux (do it as Root or use sudo if applicable)

1 – Open PHP.ini # vi /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini

2 – Scroll down until you see the line post_size_limit = 8M (change 8 to 40)

3 – restart Apache #/etc/init.d/apache2 restart

(the vi editor opens as read-only, to enable editing press “i”, to disable editing press “esc”, to save (write) press “:w” (editing needs to be disabled for this) and to exit “:q” )

This problem is caused by PHP not being able to talk to the MySQL server. Here are some simple steps that can help you resolve this.

1 – add the line extension=mysql.so to the end of your php.ini ( found under /etc/php5/apache2)

2 - restart the apache server – /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

This should resolve your problem but if it does not, like in my case, the php-mysql extension is missing so you need to install it.

3 – in a Debian based distro (Like Ubuntu) just use apt-get install php-mysql to install it (as root or use sudo before the command)

4 – restart the apache server – /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
