I went to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Time Zone Support (Near the bottom) -> and selected my Time Zone rather than “Cupertino.
This solved it for me

After synchronising my new iPod Touch for the 2nd time it decided to give it a date of about 9 months ago and changed the time to a completly different time of day!

I was using Windows XP and iTunes.

After searching the web I found that there is an issue with XP and synchronising your iTouch if your laptop/computer has been in hibernation.

So I closed iTunes and restarted it and unplugged the USB and then plugged it back in again and hey presto synchronisation worked like a dream and put my iTouch back in the correct year, day and time

So basically – if you are going to hibernate your machine – shut iTunes down before hand to reopen it when you want to synch again

I am considering one of these options at the moment.

This came about from 3 reasons – my main PC at home crashed – did the lovely blue screen on me and I had to rebuild it and before I could do this – I had to find 30Gb where I could backup all my files!! Ooops

The 2nd reason being the main PC in my house in a bedroom which backs onto my 2 year old sons bedroom and being a newly built house has paper thin walls – so everytime I want to use the PC my son hears my tapping on the keyboard and will not go to sleep – all I can hear is “mama using computer” being called from under his door.

And I guess the 3rd reason is that since I rebuilt the PC I can no longer share the folders on its hard drives – any clues I would be grateful to hear them – so please leave a comment with suggestions!!

So my search goes on for the best NAS out there. Do I go Netgear with space for any sized hard drives (which I will just happen to have floating around my house) or do I go for Belkin with an inbuit hard drive with additional USB slots for adding HDD later… I will keep you posted

The option to use VPN in Win2k was greyed out and as this was wanted I wanted to use I did some searching and found that you have to have
Telephony and Remote Access Connection Manager turned on in Administrative Tools > Services (or Start, Run, services.msc then hit enter).

To make VPN connections you must turn both of these services on and make sure they are turned to Automatic and then whenever your machine is turned on they will be automatically turned on.

If you want to make the VPN option available on your computer here is where I found the answer to my problem.
